James Madden is a life long resident and businessman in Hicksville, He is a partner, with his brother Mickey, in Madden’s Auto Body and Glass, which was founded by their father, Mark “Squat” Madden in 1947. Madden’s Auto Body, now with the third generation of the Madden family in the business, has been located at 140 Woodbury Road for over 60 years and is well known in the community. They take great pride in providing quality work in keeping with the family tradition. Madden’s is known for its expertise in complete automotive body and glasswork.
Jimmy attended St. Ignatius School, Eastern Military Academy and Holy Trinity High School, Class of ’71. He is a graduate of Lynn University, class of 1975. He and his wife of 35 years, Maryellen, have three children, James, Larissa and Christopher. Jim is a member of St. Ignatius Parish and has served on the St. Ignatius Parish School Board and the Golf Outing Committee. He is also a member of the Joseph Barry Council, Knights of Columbus.
Currently Jimmy is assisting the Hicksville Chamber of Commerce with the John Bull Steam Engine project by volunteering to do all of the painting for this historic restoration project. |

| To name an honoree for the
Hicksville Chamber of Commerce’s Small Businessperson
of the Year Award is not an easy task. He or she must be
an active member of the chamber, an owner or manager of a
business in or near our community and last, but not least,
he or she much have made a significant contribution to the
local economy and the advancement of the chamber. The person
must also have made a meaningful and important contribution
to the general welfare of his/her community. This year the
