| MET FoodMARKET COMES TO HICKSVILLE |
| You will find the new MET Foodmarket located at 520 South Broadway (at the old Compare Market site). Not only does the store have a large selection of worldly ethnic and domestic foods for you to select for your shopping list but the outside of the strip mall has a new facade. It is very attractive. There are also plantings running down the center of Broadway with stamped bricks surrounding the plantings. Thanks to TOB, that area of South Broadway (Rte. 107) looks super. | A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony |
A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is usually held during the Grand Opening Celebration. This lets the community know that a new business is being launched and they are welcome. Usually guests of prominence are invited to this event. Leaders of the community.
Around the world, many nationalities consider that the vibrant color red signifies good luck/good fortune and for this reason is used in the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The red ribbon is stretched across the threshold/entrance and held by all guests and is than cut with the red scissors. Usually large symbolic scissors are used for show and the red scissors are behind these, cutting the ribbon. This signifies that they are officially opened for business and welcome the public to enter their establishment.
Throughout the Hicksville Chamber of Commerce area, many establishments have gone into business without a ceremony of any kind. Some have had a Grand Opening with refreshments for the guests. And some have included a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in their Grand Opening Celebration. It takes only a few moments yet is very impressive for those guests attending the event and for the public that views the event in the local newspapers.
Below is a sampling of some of the businesses in the immediate area that we have rendered our services to with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
